EQUIPMENT

CLASSIC skis and poles and SKATE skis and poles are NOT the same. Both sets of equipment are needed to compete at a Varsity/Junior Varsity level. Equipment needed includes skate skis and poles, classic skis and poles, and ski boots. Beginning skiers often use a "combi" boot, which means it is used for both disciplines.

Skiers need to purchase their own ski equipment. Waxes, wax benches and all ancillary supplies are provided by MHS.

Proper athletic winter clothing is extremely important. Essential items will be discussed at the Nordic Kick-Off event in November.

Local ski stores such as Gear West and Tonka Cycle and Ski offer a discount to our high school skiers.
